The amazing buildings were built by the Zebra3 design studio in the vicinity of Bordeaux (France). The architects of the company have designed sleeping cottages in the heart of nature. Their main feature is the original design and workmanship.
The shape of the buildings follows the appearance of miniature owls that live in large numbers in this swampy area. The heads of the "inhabited" owls are made of tiles. Thanks to the use of this material, the roofs of the houses resemble the plumage of night birds. The structures are located on a special platform installed on a hill. It offers a stunning view of the picturesque Garonne River. On the cozy terrace you can retire with a cup of coffee or enjoy chatting with a cheerful company.

The living space consists of three levels. Each of them is connected by a staircase. The house can comfortably accommodate 9 people.
The interior is designed in a minimalist style. There are special mats on the floor that look like owl nests. Through the porthole windows, symbolizing the round eyes of birds, you can admire the stars at night, and during the day - bask in the gentle rays of the sun.
Those wishing to relax in the bosom of nature have the opportunity to book a room completely free of charge for one night on the Refuges Périurbains resource
There is no running water, electricity or heating in the dwelling, but this does not stop the flow of tourists. The houses are never empty. Leave a reservation for the required date several months in advance.
Authentic sleeping houses are part of the infrastructure throughout the region. The main purpose of the buildings is to encourage city dwellers to hike and explore the nature of their area.
If there are no such dwellings in your region, but you like travel and hiking, we invite you to visit
this section. There you can buy everything you need for outdoor recreation in the mountains, forest, by the lake or by the sea.
