BMW has launched a new competition in which startups and researchers from different fields can take part. Its essence is the joint development of quantum cars.
The competition envisages that the optimal ways of complex optimization of technological processes will be identified. Working together will create new developments in the automotive industry.
The analysis of the results will be conducted in four areas. Use of sensors when moving vehicles. Simulation of deformation processes of the case, materials. Development of pre-production configurations. The use of artificial intelligence to analyze the quality of cars.
The competition will be open to companies and individual specialists dealing with quantum technologies.
According to the vice president of BMW, quantum developments are just beginning to gain momentum. Different ways of their introduction into the production process are studied. Therefore, the automaker is interested in the optimal attraction of additional innovative resources.
The application for participation in the competition is possible until September 24, 2021. After that, those responsible for the project will discuss and evaluate the results. The final stage will be held with the participation of BMW management.
This is not the first competition organized by a German automaker. About several initiatives are held annually.
