Oakland-based American Dan Graber is not just an artist. He is sometimes called a philosopher, psychologist, and inventor. The author's constructions in the form of mechanical sculptures are a symbiosis of areas such as art, psychology and physics.

Dan's creations, which include metal elements, real stones, glass and epoxy resin, are incredibly aesthetically pleasing. They amaze the viewer with their beauty and idea in the very heart. By visiting this section, you can purchase the necessary components and try to create something similar.

In a glass vessel of each of the sculptures there is a miniature cut stone. Thanks to its own gravity, a strong vertical is created. The hovering effect is achieved through pulleys and coordinated work of mechanisms.

The craftsman demonstrates in his works the balance between art and human relations in society. The glass case houses a small cable that runs between the two mechanisms. The cable provides tension to the structural members that remain stable.

“While working on the products, I thought a lot about codependency in relationships. If one of the parts of the structure moves or breaks, then this will happen with the other. People have the same story. I analyzed personal communication, thought about loneliness and how collaboration affects partners. But the main thing is about the role each of us plays in the family, ”said Greiber.

Dan's sculptures provide simple answers to a series of deep questions. They broadcast to the world a philosophy that reflects the Sisyphean nature of man. The creations of the craftsman show the dependence of modern people on gadgets and various devices, which, on the one hand, make it easier for a person, and on the other, complicate it.
