The drawings on the vinyl records are created by Australian resident Melissa Jane. The girl transforms the no longer working musical media into pictures.

The image is located on the back of the plate. The place where the performer and music are recorded on the paper part. As a rule, these are portraits of famous performers and actors. Among them you can find Brian Setzer, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, David Bowie, Prince and others.

First, Melissa Jane chooses which person's face will be depicted on the plate. She studies literature, periodicals, and celebrity posters. Then he makes the first sketches on the surface of the plate.

Sometimes the artist has to use a scalpel to paint on the grooved vinyl surface. It turns out, a kind of textural drawing. And only after that, coloring with colored pencils begins.

Melissa Jane uses wax crayons in her work. They help to make a vivid, almost living, portrait. And this is very important, because the celebrities portrayed by the Australian are colorful in themselves. And their portraits on plates require a similar display.

Melissa Jane began painting records about seven years ago. Having accidentally discovered a non-working vinyl, the girl just decided to dream up a little.

Fantasy should be encouraged. But if musical instruments or sound carriers can be reanimated, then why not use it. Especially if these are active lots on the OXO website.
