Origami from banknotes is created by American craftsman Vaughn Park. The works are very detailed.
Paper sculptures are based on the ancient paperwork technique called origami. Twisting, folding in a special way, exposing individual parts and the whole structure.
Among the topics on which Vaughn Park creates, there are plants and animals, technology, architectural structures, transport. The American depicts cattle, fish, birds. Architectural structures of world importance - the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, the Statue of Liberty and others.
In his work, the master uses not just white or colored paper, but banknotes that have gone out of circulation - dollars and euros. Due to drawings on money, finished sculptures are multi-colored, with character. When choosing a banknote, the master is guided by its color, denomination, size. The direction that eventually turned out was called Manigami by Won Park.
The American technique is so popular that a few years ago he even had to publish a book. In it, he described in detail which banknotes are better to use. He also showed examples of making individual models - how to fold paper, how, if necessary, to smooth it out in case of an error.
Today, Won Park even conducts seminars and workshops on making manigami. There are already plenty of disciples, as well as followers of this trend.
