Japanese designers test engine for deep space exploration

Japanese scientists have conducted test tests of a new engine, which they plan to use in spacecraft for deep space exploration.

Testing was carried out by the forces of a sounding-type spacecraft. After takeoff, the device, reaching an altitude of almost 250 km, fell into the sea. The flight time was about eight minutes.

The analysis of data on the flight, the "behavior" of the space rocket and the engine in it, the Japanese researchers carried out after the contact of the on-board computer with water. The materials were recorded in documents, and the analytical data were summarized for publication.

A tested rocket engine can produce a useful explosion after combining oxygen with fuel. As noted by the team of scientists, this is a significant breakthrough for devices involved in deep space exploration.

The high frequencies generated compression and detonation waves. In addition, the technique used made it possible to increase the engine power and reduce its weight.

After research, Japanese scientists came to the conclusion that the limit of the operational capabilities of such engines can be significantly increased. In the near future they plan to work out this issue.
