The Italian Dito Von Teese decided to transform the classic works of art. The people portrayed are taking selfies.

Famous portraits are redone in such a way that the viewer sees a semblance of a screen on a smartphone. The series of paintings has received a special name, in which classical ideas about art are combined with youth slang. They reflect timeless classics and modern technologies.

Dito Von Teese "plays" with paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Frida Kahlo, Rene Magritte, Andy Warhol and others. However, in order to adapt the picture to a modern photo, where a person is holding his smartphone, the artist slightly "corrected" the poses in the originals. Somewhere I finished drawing my hands, somewhere I turned it aside, and somewhere I even added a smile and languor to my eyes.

The idea to create such a symbiosis came to Dito Von Teese quite unexpectedly. While visiting one of the art galleries, he saw girls taking pictures against the background of canvases. They chose such angles where their hands became a "continuation" of classical portraits. Taking this idea into service, the Italian began to experiment.

After several years of selfie experiences, Dito Von Teese has held several solo exhibitions. But these were online projects that he implemented through social networks.

The artist notes that this unusual hobby allowed him to look differently at classical canvases. Adapt them to the modern needs of young people.

But one cannot do without studying the history of paintings. And to make this process even more interesting, you can use lots from the section Literature.
