Restrained brutality and capsule comfort - apartment in the capital's residential complex
Kiev design studio ZIKZAK has created a thoughtful space for an apartment owner living in the Garden club house. The interior is stylish, brutal and laconic.
The designers managed to combine capsule comfort, restraint and thoughtful logistics. The priority was personal comfort with a taste of respectability. The space turned out to be inspiring, soothing.
After discussing the project of the apartment with the owner, it was decided to carry out the transformation - some of the supporting structures were demolished. The radiators were also moved, partitions and communications were added. Created a new lighting logic.
Hall, kitchen-living room and study made up a common space. It was an open part of the apartment, which could be used not only by all residents, but also by guests. A bedroom with a dressing room and a bathroom was moved to a part of the apartment for personal use. It was supplemented with a guest bedroom.
The designers took the idea of contrasts as a basis - the brutal brickwork was to be "set off" by multi-colored concrete textures, ceramics and vintage wood. They aimed to create a theatrical and concert effect in the room, so they resorted to the use of warm, targeted light with diffusion.
