Bridges connecting individual buildings into a single whole are not a new idea. Such constructions already exist in the world. But the new project, dubbed Orca Toronto, will surpass existing structures in its imposing scale. It was developed by Safdie Architects in collaboration with Arup.

According to the idea of the chief architect Moshe Safdie, the building will consist of 9 skyscrapers, between which there will be covered walkways. The construction of the complex will take place next to the legendary CN Tower, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. The Safdie Architects concept envisions a 4.5 hectare park around the future Orca Toronto. Another 2 hectares are allocated for building.

There is no exact information about the parameters of the structures yet. But it is known that 8 skyscrapers will be residential. More than 3000 apartments will be located in the future buildings of the complex. The ninth building will be reserved for office space. In the transitions between the skyscrapers, the developers plan to place public recreation areas surrounded by gardens.

In addition, the complex includes a parking lot, a chamber of commerce, a gallery and hotel facilities. The designers will equip the gallery with a glass roof. In the warm season, it will automatically hide.

“Our bridges between skyscrapers will be the place for specialized spaces. More often than not, connected residential buildings do not provide for this function. We want to make transitions open for free use. This way people will interact more often and become closer to each other, ”said representatives of the architectural company.

Also directly involved in the construction of skyscrapers will be the landscape bureau PWP Landscape Architecture, which was founded by the famous designer Peter Walker. The landscape design assumes the placement of many trees and plants on the territory of the complex. Residents will be able to use playgrounds, bicycle and pedestrian paths and stroll along the green lawns.

The living space of each individual apartment will be equipped by the owners according to their taste. If you also want to make your home cozy, then take a look at the section "Home, interior".
