Coral reefs are endangered. Recent studies have shown that over the past 50-60 years, their number on the planet has halved.

Biologists analyzed data collected from more than 80 countries. The results were disappointing. The number of these organic geostructures has been reduced by 60%.

The deterioration of the ecosystem is associated with global warming, overfishing and environmental pollution. Along the way, the disappearance of coral reefs has affected the lives of people. The hardest hit were the waters of Indonesia, the Caribbean and the South Pacific.

According to biologists who study coral reefs, climate change could lead to catastrophic consequences for these ecosystems.

It is noted that the ability of geological structures to support local ecological systems has decreased by 50%. This indicates the need to take protective measures as soon as possible. This applies not only to individual water areas, but also to the entire planet.

The authors of the study believe that in the 21st century, a fifth of all coral reefs may completely disappear. And the problem is not only about global warming. Coral structures are at risk of parasites and infections that can spread in fluids.

This proves once again that fishing should be carried out only in specially designated areas. With the appropriate permissions. And with the selection of the necessary equipment will help the section "Sports, recreation, leisure, tourism, fishing".
