South Korean company Hyundai Motor Co and British startup Urban-Air Port are planning a massive launch of air taxi. It is assumed that about 200 aircraft will operate in 65 countries around the world.

The new mode of transport will be engaged in the transportation of passengers in densely populated cities. It is also used for transportation to distant places.

Hydrogen fuel cells will be used to charge the air taxi. The approximate travel speed will be about 300 km / h. And the height at which it will move will be from 300 to 600 m.

At the moment, it has been decided that the launch is planned in the cities of the United States and Great Britain. But the new transport will eventually run through the countries of Europe, Asia, Australia. The start of the project is scheduled for 2022.

To implement the plans, Hyundai has created a special production line and allocated $ 1.5 billion, which will be invested over six years.

As noted in the company, flying vehicles are not the ideas of science fiction writers, but quite real means of transportation, which will soon become the generally accepted way of transportation. However, this may not happen if there is no adequate infrastructure on the ground and in the air.

The operation of flying urban transport will begin with passenger traffic. The automaker and startup would later switch to airborne cargo transportation.

In the meantime, the project to create an air taxi is only in the plans, you can concentrate on land transport. The latter requires maintenance. And for this you can use the section of the OXO site "Auto, Moto".
