Japanese art such as folding paper figures is popular all over the world. It would seem, what new can the masters of their craft offer us? But today origami has reached a new level and turned into three-dimensional paintings. These are exactly what Kota Hiratsuka, an engineer from Japan, creates. The craftsman's creations resemble a complex mosaic.

To create intricate patterns, the master impregnates sheets of paper with methylcellulose-based adhesive. Thanks to this, they acquire rigidity, which is responsible for the durability of the product.

But the first step in the work is preparing a sketch. When every detail of the future paper masterpiece has been drawn, the artist proceeds to the blanks of paper parts. The Japanese carefully forms miniature paper elements according to certain patterns. Each line and bend must correspond to certain parameters. If the angle of inclination of the part moves even a little, then the whole picture will also radically change. Kota Hiratsuka's creations are like changing pictures in a kaleidoscope. A new angle of view and a positive lion with a smile turns into a bloodthirsty predator.

Kota became interested in his hobby as a child, and today he is considered the most recognized professional in origami creation. His style already has many followers and fans.
