Contemporary artists never cease to amaze with their imagination. Frenchman Thierry Mandon creates installations in which he seems to freeze in time and hang in space. The craftsman implements his extraordinary performances on the facades of various buildings. It feels like a man lives a real life in makeshift ghost rooms.
Mandon artfully demonstrates the connection between what was, what is and what will be. In his project “Inside - Out”, the artist imitates the everyday life of a person in non-standard conditions. Namely - on the walls of dilapidated buildings. Moreover, Thierry chooses not just unkempt buildings, but those that are in disrepair. Installations on a building, where part of the facade is still standing, and the rest of the ceilings have collapsed, is a normal occurrence for a risky creator.
Mandon embodies unusual productions right in the presence of passers-by. He takes pleasure in seeing the reaction of the shocked viewers. Especially when bystanders doubt what they are seeing. According to the author, at such moments people reflect on the artistic meaning of the composition.
“I am always trying to 'grope' for a poetic view of human existence. My task is to show people that time can stop and space can change endlessly, ”says the Frenchman.
The author pays a lot of attention to details. For example, in Thierry's haunted rooms, it is easy to see the reflection of an antique mirror and the shadow of an antique chest of drawers frozen on aged wallpaper. In the Tableau Vivant composition, the artist hovers, reading a book in a makeshift dining room.
It is worth noting that such creativity is very dangerous. But this is the whole point, according to the author: to show that you need to live every moment of life vividly, even if you have to balance on the brink.
The author does not reveal the secret of how he climbs the sheer walls. But most likely, for his safety, he uses equipment for climbers. You can buy this on our website in the section
