VDe-Dimension flat furniture: original design and ergonomics

The unique furniture was designed by Jonga Choi, a young Korean artist. Jonga gave his creation the name De-Dimension. The young man's original project became a diploma work for the Eindhoven Design Academy.

The concept of the development was to create furniture that seems to exist in two spaces at the same time. According to the artist, the collection was inspired by modern technological capabilities, namely 2D and 3D printing. In addition, Choi enjoys experimenting with stereoscopic shapes and images.

At De-Dimension, Jonga has brought his knowledge and skills to bear in a minimalist direction. When folded, the furniture looks like an accent element of decor, which looks organically hung on the wall or placed on the floor. But the peculiarity of two chairs and a table is that with one simple movement they are transformed into real furniture that can be used for its intended purpose. Thanks to the moving parts of the structure, the modification of the De-Dimension takes only a couple of seconds.

The collection is made in delicate colors: calm gray, white, black, yellow, as well as blue and mint shades. The main advantages of the steel line are functionality and attractive appearance. With De-Dimension, the question of finding a storage space for furniture will be closed.

“In the digital age, people are best at seeing images that are on a flat surface. And I decided to use that. My project is a kind of experiment, ”said Choi about his work.
