Genetic rejuvenation: myth or reality?

For many years, scientists have been trying to find a way to stop the aging process. It is known that age-related changes begin at the cell level. In the course of research, experts have established the presence of telomeres - the terminal fragments of chromosomes. These elements do not carry any genetic information. But they protect the chromosomes from wear and tear. However, with every cell division, telomeres lose their size and over time become so short that they can no longer protect the chromosomes. As a result, the cell ceases to perform its functions and grows old.

Telomerase is responsible for the completion of telomeres. Thanks to her, age cells begin to divide again. Previously, the technology for increasing telomere growth was tested only in laboratory conditions on animals. The first experiments on human rejuvenation were carried out in 2015. The 44-year-old CEO of BioViva, Elizabeth Parrish, agreed to participate in the experiment.

The woman completed 2 courses of anti-aging therapy, which her staff worked on developing. The goal of the first phase of therapy was to arrest the loss of muscle mass. The second - increased the number of telomerases produced by the body. Given the fact that the test drug did not receive approval from the American FDA (Office of Medicines and Injection), the injections were carried out in another country (Colombia).

The results of the therapy have exceeded all expectations. Elizabeth's blood test showed that the telomeres in the woman's body "lengthened" by 2 decades, and the leukocytes were significantly rejuvenated.

At the moment, BioViva is closely monitoring Perrish's health to track dynamics and long-term perspectives and continues to develop gene therapy. In the meantime, funds that help maintain beauty and youth can be found on our website in this section.
