Russian ophthalmologist Sergei Khomyakov said that the safe distance for the eyes from the screen is 50-60 cm. So a user working at a computer may not worry about impairing their eyesight.

The person should be at the above distance, sitting perpendicular to the screen, the top edge of which should be at eye level. The distance from the screen to the eyes may vary depending on the type of device and its diagonal.

When working at a computer with a standard diagonal, the optimal distance is considered to be equal to 40-45 cm. However, in other cases, the user should move further.

A prerequisite for maintaining vision is also high quality lighting. Light sources should be as close as possible to the spectrum of natural light. It is better to choose lighting fixtures that have zero ripple. This has a beneficial effect on vision.

With regard to artificial lighting, here attention should be paid to induction, LED lamps and incandescent lamps.

Also, the ophthalmologist gave recommendations regarding lighting during reading. The paper of the book should be a bitter shade, the letters should contrast with the main background, the fonts with notches.

The time of day for reading is also important. If it is evening, use warm lighting and, if necessary, suitable optical aids. And if they are not available, then they can be purchased on the OXO website in the section Medtekhnika.
