British design studio Kukka has developed tapestries that are intended for use by people with color blindness.

The collection is represented by five pieces decorated with various geometric motifs. The location of objects is based on the principle of the Ishihara test, which implies special testing for the perception of colors.

Combinations of different colors and geometric shapes are presented on textile canvases. Circles, triangles, squares are depicted on parallel and perpendicular stripes. Moreover, from the outside they look absent-minded, but this is only for people with normal vision.

A team of studio specialists worked on the development of the collection, which was reinforced by five color-blind people. The latter were attracted in order to understand what colors are not visible to people with visual impairments. And also what shades are confused with each other.

The designers managed to develop tapestries that can be purchased by people with different forms of color blindness. There is an in-depth study of the issue of visual limitations here. And not only functional, but also decorative.

The project was presented at this year's specialized exhibition in the UK. The joint work of designers and people suffering from color blindness has found a response in certain circles.

You can choose a carpet, tapestry or other textile product on the OXO website in the subsection "Home textiles". Among more than a thousand lots, interesting models are presented in different sizes and color variations.
