Patricia Piccinini is a sculptor from Australia who creates real masterpieces of art from silicone. The fantastic characters of Patricia look so realistic that it feels like they are about to come to life and go about their business.

The artist was born in 1965, or Sierra Leone (African Republic), but at the age of 7 she moved to Australia, where she still lives.

Since her youth, Patricia has been fond of painting, creating installations and sculpture. But the artist gained popularity thanks to her creations in the style of hyperrealism.

In her works, the craftswoman demonstrates her passion for biological science and everything connected with it. In addition, many fans of Patricia see in her work a reference to the transhumanist movement. But the author herself does not confirm this theory in any way. To create hyper-realistic characters, the sculptor uses materials such as silicone, fiberglass and polyurethane. Real human hair and clothes make Patricia's figures look as close to aliens as possible.

The sculptures are made in the biopunk style. The author tries to discover invisible connections between humanity and other living beings. Therefore, often fantastic characters in Patricia's compositions interact closely with people in various everyday plots.

The artist's characters have bizarre shapes and unusual body parts. But at the same time, they do not look creepy or intimidating. Even the smallest visitors to Patricia's exhibition look at the creatures with enthusiasm and without a drop of fear, and some children even ask their parents to take one of them to their home. Of course, Patricia's sculptures are not suitable for the role of toys, but on our website in the section "Games, Toys" there are many suitable options.
