Global Museum of Contemporary Art opens in Hong Kong
The Museum of Contemporary Art was created by the efforts of specialists from the Swiss bureau Herzog & de Meuron and the architectural studio Farrells. To popularize the new object, the entrance will be free throughout the year.
The building consists of two blocks - structures are placed in vertical and horizontal directions. And their intersections visually resemble an inverted "T".
One side of the building is fully adapted for the LED display. He helps to showcase the exhibits that are on display at the moment. This is a kind of poster element.
Inside the building, in addition to exhibition halls and galleries, there are offices, cinemas, restaurants and a research center. Such infrastructure helps visitors to use the space not only for recreation, but also for work or study - to hold meetings, conferences, master classes, and more.
Now on the territory of the museum, more than 1.5 thousand works are exhibited, including paintings, ceramic sculptures, installations, video art.
