A train in an apartment building may sound fantastic, but not for the densely populated Chinese city of Chongqing. Here the monorail "penetrates" the structure through and through between the upper floors.

The line crosses a 19-storey residential building. The walls of the building are in close proximity to the tunnel, and the distance to the windows does not even exceed a meter. It turns out that trains pass through the building.

To prevent local residents from feeling vibrations and noise, the tunnel is surrounded by special equipment. Therefore, the sounds from a passing train do not exceed the decibels of a working dishwasher or washing machine. Nevertheless, according to other sources, life near the tunnel is very annoying for the residents. They complain of depression, fatigue.

The decision to run a monorail line through an apartment building was a compromise made by local residents and government officials. This made it possible not to demolish a number of buildings for laying the railway track. Due to the dense population in Chongqing, it is practically impossible to find a place for a railway or regular residential buildings. Everything is built up very densely.

Recall that this city is located in the southeast of China and is home to 49 million. Given that its area is 80 thousand square kilometers. In such a situation, city authorities and builders have to be creative in laying communications, highways, railway lines and building a house.

And you can buy everything you need to equip an apartment, even as unusual as Chongqing, on the OXO website in the section "House, interior".
