American startups from Cognixion are developing a headset that will allow a person to voice their thoughts. They combined the neural interface with augmented reality.

The uniqueness of the device lies in the fact that it can be an alternative to communication. The entire system consists of an augmented reality headset and a computer. The latter is "introduced" into the human brain in a non-invasive way.

The principle of operation of the device is based on the stimulation of the visual cortex by the headset, that is, the area that is responsible for receiving and analyzing signals from the outside. Next, the interface reads neural activity, analyzes it, interprets it, and sends it back.

According to the developers, the project will significantly facilitate communication with people with neurological and physical problems.

At this stage, the device is being tested. You can use the keyboard to enter commands. The headset connects to screened media via wired or wireless. Not only individual words can be displayed on the screen, but also phrases and emoji.

Startups plan to complement the device with self-study capabilities. Also use AI to develop custom language systems. This will allow you to adapt to the communication style of users or to anticipate what they wanted to say or do.

The headset, which has passed all the tests a long time ago, can be found on the OXO website in the Technique subsection.
