House-hole: original project in England

Kirkland Fraser Moor design studio has designed an unusual house, which is a great example of an innovative and environmentally friendly construction industry. The project, called Ashraya, is located in the English Chiltern hills.

In appearance, Ashraya resembles a magical home for a hobbit. The roof of the house has a curved shape that mimics the surrounding nature. Due to this, it seems that the building is underground. The house aesthetics in classical English style harmoniously complements natural aesthetics. Elegantly emphasizes the architectural solution of 2 rounded courtyards.

The external facade is made very concisely. But behind it hides a luxurious residence on 3 levels. The open space of the ground floor with a wooden roof accommodates spacious living areas. The master bedrooms are located on the second floor. The ground floor serves as a relaxation area. The slide from a natural tree can be used as a ladder.

In addition, the building is equipped with a number of technological innovations. Among them - a heating system based on a geothermal pump. And 90-meter wells are used as a cooling mechanism. Building blocks are made of materials such as straw, natural lime, clay and chalk.

The construction of the project took 5 years. During this time, architects had to overcome many difficulties associated with the planning and use of innovative environmental technologies. But thanks to this, Ashraya not only fits harmoniously into the landscape, but also meets the latest trends in design and architecture.
