Table for 125 employees: creative agency in New York has come up with an unusual place for coworking
A creative agency based in New York Clive Wilkinson Architects has developed a 350 meter long table design. This piece of furniture can accommodate about 125 people.
The design of the table is stylized as an endless ribbon, the top of which is made of wood and covered with a plastic layer. The wide "ribbon" is laid on a wooden base that runs along the perimeter of the coworking center.
The peculiarity of the table is not just a continuous transition, but overlaps and all kinds of descents with ascents. Many of them resemble bridges, under which other riders can hide.
The height of the table on individual levels can be up to 180 cm. Therefore, some parts of the surface are not just tables at which you can sit. These are bar counters that allow you to stop for coffee breaks.
There are options for tables that are surrounded by chairs in a circle. This is the format for Brainstorm. Employees sitting in a circle can get up and leave the table at any time, come back.
As noted by the management of the company for which the table was created, this project came out cheaper for them than buying separate tables for 125 employees.
Chairs for an endless table can be very different - from metal chairs on casters to circular wooden benches. In the office of the company, they are immediately installed in places near the tables.
