Pigeon chandelier: the artist came up with a way to combine creativity with nature

The wing-shaped chandelier was invented by the artist Lauren Charlton. The woman used silk-screen prints on paper.

A small chandelier in which the wings protrude as a shade is rather unusual. The lighting fixture is more like an art object than a practical element of home decor. However, the artist decided that the chandelier should look like this.

Lauren Charlton used a silk-screen printing technique. First I drew a pair of pigeon wings, and then I made more than five dozen copies. After cutting out the finished forms, everything was glued to a paper base. The output is a cocoon-shaped lighting fixture.

Chandelier Lauren Charlton gives the room a soft, diffused light. But through the use of darkened pigeon wing prints, it is somewhat subdued.

This is the first experience of using your talent for practical purposes. Before that, the woman simply depicted birds on paper. And here she decided to combine her love for birds with fine arts and silk-screen printing techniques. It turned out quite unusual.

In the future, Lauren Charlton plans to continue experimenting with crafts that are reminiscent of birds. Perhaps it will be a series of lamps or table lamps. The artist doesn't know yet.
