American scientists have developed a microchamber, the size of which does not exceed a grain of salt. But, despite this, with its help, fairly clear and bright images are obtained.

The lenses in the camera were replaced with meta-surfaces, which are created on the principle of computer chips. They were marked with cylindrical columns, the size of which does not exceed the size of the HIV virus.

The installation of cylindrical posts at different angles on the metaplatform made it possible to capture and refract light in a certain way. And then, with the participation of neural networks, form images of objects.

Test tests have shown that the finished images provide enough information about the subject being shot. Elements and colors are fully rendered.

After completing the tests and making adjustments, scientists will look for investors to launch such cameras into mass production.

It is assumed that they can be used in different areas. In medicine, this will help with operations on blood vessels and nerves. In the study of space, such cameras will become indispensable in the analysis of planetary surfaces. For laboratory research, scientists will be able to use miniature cameras in the study of bacteria and viruses.

But it will be possible to speak about the final statements only after the end of all tests.

You can also engage in research activities with existing technical devices. It is enough to go to the OXO website in the appropriate section and select the required lot.
