The problem of environmental pollution is getting more complicated every day. So that it does not acquire catastrophic proportions, each person must take responsibility and show by his own example the ways to solve it. This is the opinion of the creative Indian artist Subodh Kerkar.

For the founder of Museum Of Goa, art is a way to draw attention to pressing social issues. “The debris seen in nature is not just a physical phenomenon. This is the reflection of the debris in our head. If we don’t rid our hearts and souls from it, then nothing will change outside, ”the artist shared his thoughts.

In his recent works, the author actively discloses the topic of uncontrolled use of plastic. One of Subodh's most famous creations is the Wall of Hope, which has become the landmark of Massouri. The large-scale installation is a wall made of plastic bottles. It took more than 15 thousand old containers to create it. The local population provided assistance in collecting the material. The main concept of the art object is to demonstrate that waste can become an alternative resource for something new.

Another work of Kerkar is no less impressive - an installation called "Carpet of Joy". Volunteers from Saligao (India, Goa) collected 50 thousand plastic bottles for the artist. Subodha dyed them and turned them into flowers. The craftsman "collected" a unique carpet from improvised flowers. Carpet of Joy is loved not only by the local population, but also by tourists: viewers are often photographed against the background of the original creation.

Subodh's art objects urge not to forget that every discarded plastic product causes irreparable harm not only to the planet, but to all of humanity. Kerkar believes that his creations will inspire nature-conscious exhibition visitors. After all, if each person begins to clean up after themselves, then the ecology will be at least a little cleaned up.
