The innovative textiles were invented and brought into reality by the Dutch designer Antoine Peters. The novelty was presented at a specialized exhibition in Germany.

The material is based on a lenticular weave. A technology used in print to create animations.

Antoine Peters has teamed up with a manufacturer of technological weaving to introduce the technology of object animation on textiles. The collaboration allowed the creation of a fabric that is rendered and takes on different forms through the use of a 3D printer.

The finished material on textiles is able to change shape depending on the viewing angle. The fabric on pillows, curtains or bedspreads seems to move and change its appearance.

To demonstrate the possibilities of his development, the designer created an installation based on dense textiles. If desired, visitors to the exhibition could approach the innovative fabric, touch and observe the changes depending on the viewing angle.

The Dutchman assumes that it will be possible to use such textiles to create not only pieces of furniture, textile accessories for decoration. Opportunities, innovative fabrics are applicable in art, and in military affairs, and in science.

More traditional ways of using textiles in the interior can be found on the OXO website. The eponymous subsection contains carpets, bedspreads, bed linen, towels, pillows and more.
