The development of a refrigerator, which will be controlled using a neural network, was announced by Amazon. The main feature of innovative household appliances is that they are able to analyze the owner's taste preferences and study the food stock. Based on this data, the refrigerator generates a list of purchases, and also recommends suitable recipes to the owners.

The model, called Project Pulse, operates on the knowledge it gains through machine learning. The new refrigerator will not only independently control the expiration dates of the products, but also remind them of their imminent expiration. In addition, it is quite possible that Project Pulse will support the voice assistant Alexa, which is present in most of the company's products.

Project Pulse not only offers interesting recipes, but also helps you order them. Currently, food shopping is supported in stores such as Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh. But the developers plan to significantly expand this list.

More than 100 people from several teams worked on the creation of this project. Among them were the engineers of the Just Walk Out system for Amazon Go. The program automatically fixes the list of products and debits money from the card without queuing at the checkout.

Development of Project Pulse has been going on for over 2 years, and at this stage it cost the company $ 100 million. At the same time, Amazon will equip existing models from the company with which it cooperates with its own technologies. The preliminary cost of Project Pulse is still unknown, but most likely it will be high.
