Charlie-Ann Kobdak, a resident of Germany, creates amazing sculptures in the steampunk style. From the first seconds it may seem that Charlie-Ann's creations are a chaotic jumble of wheels, lights, speakers, drive belts and just various parts from electronic mechanisms. But in fact, Kobdak's compositions are organically linked with each other by a special plot, in which small elements play a key role.

The craftsman's mechanisms are not devoid of decorative ornaments, but they are not made in a standard way. So to create a steampunk effect, the craftswoman attaches clock dials, beeps and whistles, as well as a pressure sensor and even fur to the sculptures.

The girl began to create kinetic creations in the late 90s. Initially, experiments in the form of folding metal parts into various structures were only a favorite hobby. Over time, the fascinating work of a graphic designer has grown into a lifelong business.

Charlie-Anne searches for material for sculptures in flea markets, antique shops, online auctions and even in landfills. Any object can find a second life in the hands of a craftsman. Charlie-Anne recently created her own brand called LowTech Instruments.

“I love the mechanical aesthetics. Each of my devices has a character and a language. But an important part of my work is the viewer. Machines cannot generate emotions without human participation. Everything is interconnected not only in the universe, but also in my micro-world, ”said the craftswoman.

A vivid imagination and a desire to do something unusual are the key components of this hobby. In this section, you will find tools and mechanical devices that can form the basis of such an instance, but in your performance.
