The 3D-printed home has become the home of an underprivileged Virginia family. Instead of four weeks of construction, the work took 12 hours.

A resident of the state and her 13-year-old son became the owners of a small cottage, which consists of five rooms. The structure is based on a frame made of fast-setting concrete. Such material retains heat well, does not allow moisture to pass through and is quite durable.

Home systems are monitored by a special computer that is designed to serve this type of facility. He monitors security, water and light sensors, heating. The economic component allows you to minimize maintenance costs.

In the future, houses of this type are planned to be equipped with solar panels. This will further reduce energy consumption and maintenance of the entire structure.

A printer is installed in one of the rooms, which allows you to print out individual structures of the house. This is necessary in the event of breakage of supporting structures, panels or wall parts. This is how the future owners of "printed houses" receive additional materials for the construction or renovation of their house.

The construction of houses of this type was initiated by the state authorities as part of a charitable program that aims to support low-income families. It is believed that such an initiative will help reduce the number of houses built in the traditional way and save up to 15% on their subsequent operation.

Traditional building materials and equipment can be found on the OXO website in the section "Tools and equipment".
