The Ice and Snow Figures Festival is an annual event held in the Chinese city of Hebrina. More than 18 million tourists visit it.

Official preparations for the large-scale exhibition begin in early January. Workers transport blocks of ice so that craftsmen from all over the world can surprise visitors. These blocks can sometimes weigh up to 1,500 feet.

The main site is usually decorated with ice castles. Copies of famous architectural structures and sculptures are also placed there. The largest is the Buddha figure, which is over 108 feet high.

But the parks with ice sculptures look especially impressive in the evening. In the light of illuminations and overflows, everything turns into precious stones. You can approach each of them at a distance of half a meter and enjoy this beauty with your own eyes.

Such festivals are held not only to emphasize the skill of a person in working with ice. It is also a tribute to centuries-old traditions. In the province of Heilongjiang, where the aforementioned city is located, this has been carried out for more than one century. Only in the past have candles been used to highlight ice figures.

Lovers of active recreation can also pamper themselves with entertainment. They can ride the ice slides. And also dine in a restaurant built entirely of ice.
