The situation in which a tire bursts at the most inopportune time is familiar to many motorists. Naturally, any damage to the wheels, as well as the entire car, causes negative emotions in the owner. After all, even without it, there are enough problems in life. To reduce their number, Hankook from South Korea has developed a unique tire that does not puncture or deflate.

i-Flex (this is the name given to the development) has a width of 105 mm and a thickness of 400 mm. It is presented in the format of a multi-layer structure of knitting needles interconnected in three dimensions. This solution provides the tires with high-quality shock absorption. The inspiration for this technology was the special cellular structure of living organisms.

For the presentation of the project, Hankook used Hyundai's Plug & Drive modular design. The use of airless tires on real car autotomies is not possible at this stage. Therefore, this platform has become the optimal solution for demonstrating development capabilities, as it will allow testing devices even in a limited space.

So far, Hankook has not announced when the new product will be available for mass use. Before this happens, it is necessary to carry out a number of tests.

But even if all cars are equipped with “eternal” tires, other elements still need timely maintenance and high-quality repairs. You can buy everything you need for this purpose in the "Auto, Moto" section.
