Shipping containers turned into a three-story mansion

American Will Brough dreamed of a large and comfortable house for a long time. But the man did not have enough funds to realize his dream in the form familiar to everyone. But that didn't stop Will. And with minimal financial investment in 2011, the craftsman designed a 3-storey mansion from shipping containers.



Before starting construction, the designer prepared a project for a townhouse in a volumetric design program. It took eleven containers to recreate the model in real life. The choice in favor of such material was made by the designer for a reason: sea containers have increased resistance to external natural factors. The structures are strong, fire and moisture resistant, moreover, they are not afraid of hurricanes.



The designer spent only 2 weeks to build a dwelling with an area of ​​232 square meters. It took Will a little more time to finish the interior. First of all, he took up the thermal insulation of the building. A significant disadvantage of metal "boxes" is that they quickly cool and heat up. Therefore, the craftsman approached this problem with all responsibility.
