The US military plans to conduct security measures on one of its borders with robot dogs. These electronic "animals" will independently patrol the territory.

The automated machines were designed in collaboration between DHS and Ghost Robotics specifically for security professionals. And, above all, border guards.

The developments are four-legged robots that are capable of crossing any type of natural terrain. It can be mountainous areas, deserts, shallow reservoirs. As for artificially created obstacles, these can be stairs.

According to the developers, these dogs are easy to adapt to the possibilities of using AI. Variations that are already in use on the battlefield. Also, their activities can be synchronized with combat drones and other similar equipment.

Border guards and customs officers have to work in difficult conditions - fluctuations in temperature and humidity, droughts, movement over rough terrain. Therefore, an assistant that is able to quickly respond to commands should be a robot. Prior to this, traditional types of service dogs were used.

The new assistants are ideal for working in difficult conditions. They can quickly adapt to changing conditions - chasing the offender while illegally crossing the border.
