The British space company Orbex using a 3D printer printed a real rocket engine. Unusual unit equipped with a two-stage rocket Prime, made of a mixture of carbon and aluminum.

The engine has no joints at all. The stage of the rocket is presented in the form of one cast part. Due to the unique mechanism of the engine emits 90% less carbon dioxide than other units. In addition, the weight of the engine for Prime is 30% less than others. The first launch of Orbex is scheduled for 2021.
