Kurt Workman (CEO of Owlet baby care) has developed a device that will be an indispensable tool for new parents. This is a controller that monitors the physical condition of newborn babies in their sleep. Namely: changes in body temperature, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation.

The development, called Owlet, outwardly resembles a familiar children's sock with open fingers, but acts as a functional biometric sensor. The smart sock is made of elastic fabric, so it is not felt at all on the child's leg. The sensors are located at the top of the product. Crossed ribbons pass through the heel of the baby.

The volume of the product is regulated by special Velcro fasteners. Therefore, it is suitable for children from birth to 18 months. The owlet is electrically powered but completely safe.

In case of a sharp fluctuation in some of the child's indicators, the gadget's built-in sensor instantly sends an alarm signal to all connected devices (stationary base and smartphone). Thus, the development helps to exclude such a terrible phenomenon as SIDS, which means the sudden death of a newborn).

The body position of the newborn is recorded by an accelerometer. An infrared sensor monitors the parameters of oxygen in the blood. Synchronization with the mobile application occurs thanks to the Bluetooth function. The device saves all the information received during the night in the form of a graph: thanks to this, parents can monitor the child's condition on a daily basis. The smart sock is equipped with a battery that works up to 18 hours without additional recharging.

On our website, useful products for children of all ages are presented in the this section.
