American researchers have developed a biocomputer capable of assessing water quality. With the efforts of this device, you can understand in just a few minutes whether the liquid is drinkable or not.

The computer is based on the use of genetic networks, which are pre-programmed by scientists. These networks operate on the principle of electrical circuits. Especially when it comes to performing logical operations.

The DNA molecule was placed in a transducer, the circuitry of which is capable of processing analog codes, i.e. pollutants. After analysis, the device gives the initial digital output, a conclusion about the quality of the water.

The device contains eight small test tubes. The biocomputer analyzes their contents and highlights the pollution in green. The more pollutants inside, the richer the shade of green.

If only one test tube glows from all the tubes, this means that the liquid is contaminated at the level of a trace amount of a substance. If all eight tubes are green, then it is not recommended to drink such water.

According to the scientists, each of the test tubes was programmed in such a way that it could analyze a different level of contamination. The tube containing the liquid with the lowest contamination threshold will always glow green.

Measuring devices, including those that can be used for water, are displayed in the section of the same name of the ОХО website.
