Smart will stop selling electric cars in the US and Canada

In special press release, Daimler announced that the smart brand will stop selling the EQ ForTwo model in the US and Canada by the end of this year. The problem was created by Smart, decided to implement in these countries, the purely electric version of the ForTwo. As a result, two years in the U.S. sales fell from 6211 to 1276 cars.

In Canada, the situation is even worse – here in 2019 sold only 45 cars. And there is nothing surprising: the mileage of the electric version of ForTwo is 93 km. This is only 18 km more than the hybrid Honda Clarity, which moves also on gasoline.
