Volvo has taught the truck to prevent the collision

Distance Alert – software for cars that helps to prevent a collision with another road user. The emergency brake function, developed by Volvo Trucks, allows truck drivers to completely avoid an accident. Activation of the new function takes place outside the cities and towns, on those sections of roads where the speed of the car reaches 60 km/h. To identify the object on the track and determine the distance, the system includes a radar and a camera.

The Distance Alert action occurs as follows. First, the system warns the driver of a possible danger by means of an audible signal. The red indicator on the windshield turns on. Emergency braking is then activated if the driver does not respond to the warning. The function will be equipped with trucks Volvo FH, Volvo FH16, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX 2018 release.
