Tesla will start transporting astronauts to rockets
Tesla introduced the Tesla Model X electric crossovers that will deliver NASA astronauts to rockets for future SpaceX missions.
After successfully testing the crew evacuation system, SpaceX plans to move to the first manned spacecraft flight. Presumably it will be held between April and June 2020, reports AP NEWS.
Transportation of astronauts is planned to be carried out using the electric Tesla Model X crossover, and not the usual Astro van.
In support of the plans, a photograph was published showing two NASA astronauts in the background of Model X. They were delivered in preparation for the first manned launch of the Crew Dragon.
Recently SpaceX has completed testing of the Crew Dragon with a Falcon 9 rocket to test the operation of the evacuation system.
