Candlestick micro trend: higher and higher

In the era of the lack of electricity, candlesticks with candlesticks were a basic necessity. Nowadays they can also be found in every home, but their purpose has changed. Now they act as a decor that creates a special atmosphere of comfort and intimacy in the interior. But sometimes the task assigned to candlesticks is to showcase the taste and aesthetic sense of the home owner. In this case, you need to understand the trends of the season and choose a candlestick that matches the current fashion trends.

At the last interior exhibition Formex Stocholm, designers massively proposed a modification of the standard candlesticks. Until recently, the height of a classic accessory was from 10 to 30 cm. Now actual items have a length of at least 40-60 cm. And the most spectacular candlesticks reach a meter. Following the candlesticks, candles also grew (up to 60-70 cm). As a result, the usual location of candlesticks in the interior was transformed. "Growing" models are placed lower than usual so that the candle flame is at eye level. For example, on a coffee table, headboard, sofa armrest, or on the floor.



Visually, the new candlesticks have acquired lightness of shape. Ceramic, wooden or options with a bronze base and a massive support have sunk into oblivion. Nowadays, crystal, glass, brass and stainless steel painted in natural shades are held in high esteem. The idea transmitted by the designers is versatility and sophistication. Products with a base of several circles, as in classic and Provence candlesticks, are considered old-fashioned.



Instances with a mirror surface and dramatic form will look spectacular in a modern stylistic direction. Candlesticks do not look elegant alone, but in a composition of several pieces (especially if they differ in height). Therefore, designers within the same collection offer different heights of the same model. Another interesting solution would be a combination of accessories of the same shape, but made of different types of metal.
It's worth noting that you don't have to throw your candlesticks away. You can experiment with the ones you already have. If there is a pair with standard holders, then they can be "beaten" with superhigh candles. And then the new composition will also look trendy.
