The flowerpots of an unusual appearance are created by an American couple from Pittsburgh. She uses cement and natural minerals in her work.

First, young people make a mold for the future pot. As a rule, these are traditional trapezoids, cylinders or polyhedra. After drying and sanding, a part of the pot wall is cut out. The product is reinserted into the mold and the missing part is supplemented with mineral powder.

The pre-free-flowing mixture is impregnated with glue, which helps to hold its shape after drying. But after final drying, impregnation with antimicrobial compounds is required. This is because the pots interact with soil, water, and plants.

The two sculptors are inspired by the foundations of one ancient Japanese worldview - Wabi-sabi. Its essence lies in the fact that in every object you can find something beautiful. Or, through simple manipulations, make it so. Beauty takes place even in imperfect objects - flower pots, dishes, clothes.

With the creation of cement pots filled with minerals, steam from Pittsburgh began experimenting. Several candlesticks have been created in a similar style. It turned out pretty well.

The young sculptors plan to continue searching and improving in the creation of products for the home with an emphasis on the Wabi-sabi worldview. Perhaps their creativity will even extend to pieces of furniture.
