Metal carving is a hobby of American Cal Lane. In her work, the girl uses different objects - from shovels to shipping containers.

Cal Lane uses a gas burner to create tracery patterns on metal. For detailing, metal saws, pliers, drills and even shovels are used.

The creation of a future masterpiece begins with the selection of a "canvas". The American explores garages, dumps of cars and scrap metal. Sometimes old metal objects are delivered by Cal Lane's friends and acquaintances.

Then the girl proceeds to create a sketch. On paper, taking into account the size of the metal surface, a future drawing is drawn. The stencil method is used. After that, the finished paper templates are transferred to the metal and transferred using markers or slate pencils.

The final stages are torch cutting and image grinding. Cal Lane uses sandpaper for the grout. This makes the images look smoother, and the patterns are organically intertwined with each other.

The American has been engaged in metal carving for the last 3-4 years. Before that, she was a hairdresser. The drawings on metal attracted the girl because of their versatility and brutality. Before that, Cal Lane only drew with an electric razor on the hair of her clients. It turned out quite unusual.

Over time, the former hairdresser began to hone her drawings on metal. Patterns, weaves, individual objects.

Cal Lane's drawings can be found on shovels, wheelbarrows, barrels, boilers, and shipping containers. The girl's works decorate some areas of the city, private houses and personal exhibitions.
