The Japanese company Omron Corporation presented a robot tennis trainer several years ago. The built-in artificial intelligence allows not only waving a racket or putting on a backpack, but also learning new techniques.

The engineers have equipped the robot with sensors that record the movements of a person standing opposite. The sensors help calculate the trajectory of the ball to the moving object. And artificial intelligence analyzes the speed and actions of the enemy.

The robot, created by Japanese engineers, hit the Guinness Book of Records back in 2017. But the invention has undergone certain changes in recent years, so the trainer with artificial intelligence is counting on a new entry in the Guinness Book.

According to the author of the project, Taku Oya, the main goal of the creation and subsequent modifications of the device is to establish interactions between humans and AI.

The difficulty in working on the robot was to establish a fast reaction algorithm. So that the electronic trainer is in the right place at the right time. At the same time, he properly reacted to the actions of the person who plays tennis with him.

After improving the design and some algorithms, the robot can independently assess the enemy, determine the level of his skill.

The engineers also managed to establish communication between the players through the monitor. In addition to playing actions, the robot will be able to develop communication skills.

It is noted that in tens of years, such robots may even be able to give people advice on how to create their own kind.
