Convertible chair wins SIT Furniture Design Award 2021
The transforming chair was developed by the designer Philip Kronquist. A comfortable and functional piece of furniture won the SIT Furniture Design Award 2021.
When closed, a chair is a monolithic slab, the thickness of which is almost 12 cm. After opening, this piece of furniture turns into a comfortable chair with armrests.
Inside, a lever mechanism is used that allows the seat, armrests and backrest to fold out synchronously after opening. To do this, you do not need to perform any complex manipulations or use tools. One movement is enough.
And as soon as a person gets up from a chair, he returns to its original position. Due to the spring-loaded mechanism, it folds into a monolithic platform.
The folded form is quite compact, which allows you to place quite a lot of such pieces of furniture in one room.
The chair is available in a multicolored format and wood-like color. The choice of colors opens already at the stage of ordering furniture. In the same place, the buyer can determine the number of pieces of furniture.

The profile exhibition, at which Philippe Kronquist's project won the first prize, took place in the middle of last month. It was attended by the work of individual designers and furniture companies from Europe, USA, China.
