The French company Roche Bobois has presented a new table model. Three-dimensional printing technologies were used for the piece of furniture.

Visually table is a standard design. However, the piece of furniture is adorned with a parametric concrete base and a tempered glass top.

If the top of the table is usually standard, then the bottom is changed at the request of the client. To do this, you just need to use a special application downloaded to your smartphone. The program operates in inseparable tandem with the table. This configurator allows you to create a one-of-a-kind design.

The user independently chooses the shape, size, texture. Edits made can be viewed in real time and adjusted as the model is created. And after the completion of the manipulations, activate the volumetric automation.

The procedure for forming a concrete base is carried out by continuous upward movement of the printer nozzle. Digital control hardens the ultra-strong concrete belt. This is similar to making ceramic products by layering the material.

The procedure for creating a concrete base takes about 30 minutes. It takes another week to harden and dry.

The table model invented by French designers allows clients not only to take part in their creation. It is also part of a sustainable, environmentally friendly process. There is a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions due to the absence of the need to transport furniture.

OXO recently wrote about a table with waves, which was created by a design studio from Cyprus.
